Ok I was convinced but until I replace my grass with more native plants I have to mow it - responsibly. Our local utility company has an exchange program so I drove my gas mower to the recycling location and drove away with a $100 rebate. Next stop Home Depot where I purchased a Black and Decker electric lawn mower. Final stop - my yard - where I plugged it in and in no time had a nicely trimmed lawn and clean air. What I liked most about the mower was the sound - quiet. Now I can mow the lawn in the early morning hours without waking up the neighbors. Also, no more trudging to the local gas station to fill up my gas can which seems to be empty every time I want to mow the lawn. What will be a challenge will be reminding myself that I am plugged into an electric outlet by a long extention cord. I can see my self running over it if I'm not careful. My experience with vacuum cleaner cords might come in handy after all.

You still had a gas mower? Ok, I feel a bit better now.
We've been using electric but I've been thinking about going to manual. Hoping that will make up a bit for my paper towels and ziploc bags!
