Grow Don't Mow

Boy did our blog coach Dave come up with a doozie for me to see today. Check out Robin's post called Grow Don't Mow. I love what she is talking about and she is pointing to how our food could be free.

Great work Robin - Love the pictures.

Smart Spaces Goes to Hollywood - Update

So my adventure in Hollywood was an awesome one. I can definitely see how people can get hooked on the excitement of it. The Film Festival ran for the weekend with Pilots showing every hour for the duration. There was lots to see. Our pilot Smart Spaces: Inside & Out was shown on both Saturday and Sunday and was VERY well received. It seems like every time I mentioned the show and what we do the entire conversation turned to what can I do live a greener lifestyle.

The judging was done by a panel of industry leaders that were not at the Film Festival, so there was no bias going on. They were given the pilots in the weeks leading up to festival to evaluate.

Well the good news is that we were picked and went to the event. The bad news is we were not picked as category winner. But it was all a lot of fun.

Again thanks to everyone who have supported us in our adventure.

Click here to see the entries. The King Kaiser Show won for our category.

I also want to send out a special thanks to our new Executive Producer Jeffrey Willerth. He and I spent the weekend together at the film fest. A few months ago he took one look at our Pilot and has taken on the project of getting us on TV.

Smart Spaces Goes a New Shade of Green

Hi all,

I am jazzed! This week we celebrate the launch of our new website Your Guide To Green which is a much better representation of what we actually do. Don't worry though, if you feel a bit overwhelmed by the increasing emphasis on environmental concerns, healthy lifestyles, sustainability and buying locally. That's exactly why we designed this website, to help you take the guesswork out of going green and really enjoy learning more about the many physical and financial benefits of your simple efforts. You will quickly see the many “shades of green” through our tips, articles, Podcasts, blogs and products...then you can simply choose the best ones for you!

If you are really wondering “Why bother?” check us out and see how you can have a monumental impact with very little effort. As a simple way to look at it, our research guru, Maura, put together the following formula for us to think about...

Going Green: A Little Effort + Conscious Consumerism = Saving Money + Helping the Environment

This Week's View introduces you to our new site and looks at several simple things that you can do right now to make a difference. Our goal is to be your “Go-to Site” for easy green living and we welcome your knowledge and input.

To that end we have also launched our Freshly Green internet Podcast show where Amy and I discuss many different aspects of going green. We would like to invite you to listen to a show or two and if you are moved call our voicemail number and ask a question or two. For our latest show visit and scroll down the page to listen.

Also, this week we are featuring Earthscore an Environmental Footprint Calculator. This excellent booklet will help you calculate your impact and guide you to many choices you can make.

We look forward to your comments, interactions and feedback on our new site.

P.S. In the future your innovative ideas will be coming from Your Guide To Green.
