Smart Spaces Goes Hollywood

So many of you know that a year ago our awesome team created a TV show called Smart Spaces: Inside & Out and since then we have done a little marketing to get it on TV. Well our producer Kristi Atwell decided to submit our little pilot to the Independent Television Festival and...drum roll please, we were selected.

The festival is in Hollywood, so I packed up the hybrid and drove here. The opening cocktail, red carpet gala was last night Friday July 27. Oh my gosh what a party that was - photographers, stars, gorgeous guys and gals, way too much silicone in lips and other parts...I can see how it gets addicting.

Today I am off to the viewings of the shows. We are in a category with a field of 8 and I am thinking it looks good for a win at least in the category. I am also chatting with many other artists (what they are calling those of us that made films) to see how they did what they did. Lots of fun. Gotta run...more info later today.

Smart Spaces Goes to Hollywood - Update

So my adventure in Hollywood was an awesome one. I can definitely see how people can get hooked on the excitement of it. The Film Festival ran for the weekend with Pilots showing every hour for the duration. There was lots to see. Our pilot Smart Spaces: Inside & Out was shown on both Saturday and Sunday and was VERY well received. It seems like every time I mentioned the show and what we do the entire conversation turned to what can I do live a greener lifestyle.

The judging was done by a panel of industry leaders that were not at the Film Festival, so there was no bias going on. They were given the pilots in the weeks leading up to festival to evaluate.

Well the good news is that we were picked and went to the event. The bad news is we were not picked as category winner. But it was all a lot of fun.

Again thanks to everyone who have supported us in our adventure.

Click here to see the entries. The King Kaiser Show won for our category.

I also want to send out a special thanks to our new Executive Producer Jeffrey Willerth. He and I spent the weekend together at the film fest. A few months ago he took one look at our Pilot and has taken on the project of getting us on TV.

Dr. Pat Visits the Urban Farm

Boy did I have a blast yesterday. Yesterday Dr. Pat Baccili of the wildly successful Dr. Pat Show - She has been called the "Oprah of Radio" came to visit me at the Urban Farm. We chatted and I gave her a tour pointing out all the great edible plants and other green technologies.

Then I had the pleasure of being a guest on her show. We chatted about the Urban Farm, what it means to live green, our new website - Your Guide To Green and our Billion Bag, Bottle & Bulb Challenge. She was an awesome host and I really enjoyed being on her show. The show can be heard on her website.

Dr. Pat has also launched a new challenge called the Dr. Pats Green Christmas Challenge. Look for more info on this here as we will be playing together on this.
