So we've got two days until Earth Day, but it seems like the rest of the world likes to celebrate it during the business week, so it looks like today is the unofficial celebration! Yay for Earth Day. And like I said in my previous blog, Oprah's got a rockin' "Go Green" show on today at 3 pm EST.
Thus, in the spirit of Earth Day and the warm weather rollin' in...here are some things you can do today to go green and stay cool! Try buying New Wave Enviro's Corn Water Bottles to reduce your consumption of plastic water bottles. To go off on somewhat of a tangent, plastic is my new campaign. I read an article on this place in the Pacific Ocean that is bigger than the size of Texas where no sailors dare to go. It is a place where the water currents create almost a vortex and all the plastic from all the coasts get sucked to this place in teh middle of the ocean and get deposited there. It wasn't until recently when someone found it that it became such an alarming issue, but it blew my mind! Turtles were deformed from plastic 6-pack holders and the water is completely saturated with plastic pieces. Think about it--in 10,000 years all the plastic we are consuming/producing will still be on the Earth. Might I heavily suggest trying this New Wave Enviro Corn Water Bottle?!
Alright, a couple more products to check out....reusable garbage sacks, purchasing emissions to compensate for your consumption of green house gases, or (plain and simple) changing out your incandescent bulbs to Compact Fluorescent Lights!
Good luck. Be well.
