Cooking with Chef Rachel
Hi everyone,
It is always very exciting for me to harvest a meal from my yard at the Urban Farm...and there is always something to eat in my garden.
When people first arrive, they are surprised that it doesn't look like a typical farm with long rows of corn and beans. Instead, it looks like a nicely landscaped yard that is, by the way, primarily edible.
The BIG thing that this affords me is that I have landscaped with many different herbs, vegetables and fruits, giving me an entire omelet (hens lay the eggs), salad or hearty soup at any given moment. The garden is everywhere as I discovered when writing my latest book called Grow Wherever You Go!
So last week my friend Chef Rachel (of www.thegardenofeatingdiet.com) came over and we harvested quite a nice dinner from the garden. This week, grab your fork and follow us on our mini video tour of harvesting the yard and making dinner. Enjoy the show!
